Glacial lakes are the signature of the Vosges: set in cirques carved by glaciers, they are often earned by fine forest loops. Lac Blanc with its cliffs, Longemer and Retournemer at the foot of the Hohneck offer varied hikes between mirror waters and plunging viewpoints.
