Le Markstein, at roughly 1,020 to 1,268 metres, combines an alpine ski area, a slalom stadium, a snow park and a sledging area. The resort hosted Ski World Cup races in the 1980s.
The Markstein Grand-Ballon Nordic area offers cross-country trails and snowshoe routes along the ridges. The rail toboggan also runs outside the ski season, and the site is a well-known snowkiting spot.
💡 Good to know
Cross-country passes are often sold online at pre-season prices; also check the state of the access roads (via Kruth, Guebwiller or the Route des Crêtes) before you go.
