Photo: Pexels In Alsace, EuroVelo 15 links Huningue, on the edge of Basel, with Lauterbourg on the German border. This section is part of a European route of more than 1,320 km following the Rhine from its Swiss source to the North Sea.
In the south the path follows the Rhône–Rhine Canal and its locks; further north it runs along the flood dyke through the Rhine forests. Along the way: the Three Countries Bridge at Huningue, the octagonal church at Ottmarsheim, the UNESCO-listed citadel of Neuf-Brisach, then Strasbourg.
💡 Good to know
Between Strasbourg and Lauterbourg the route uses more shared minor roads, so take care with children. On regional trains, reserve a bike space where possible, and download the official GPX track before you set off.
