On the summer high moorlands, wild blueberries are picked with a comb — 5 L maximum.
Easy
In summer, the high moorlands of the Vosges fill with bilberry bushes: wild bilberries — “brimbelles” in dialect — are picked from July to September. Smaller and more fragrant than cultivated ones, they fill tarts and jams. Picking is done with a comb, within a 5-litre-per-person limit in the Hautes-Vosges.
