📍 Hunawihr · Haut-Rhin (68)

A member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, Hunawihr is a small village on the Wine Route. On a hillock, the church of Saint-Jacques is surrounded by a fortified churchyard that once sheltered villagers; shared by Catholics and Protestants, it holds 15th-century frescoes devoted to Saint Nicholas.

Below, the Sainte-Hune fountain recalls the legend said to have given the village its name, and a vineyard trail sets off through the vines. Just outside the village, NaturOparC, founded in 1976 to reintroduce the white stork, makes a good family extension.

💡 Good to know

Dogs are not allowed in NaturOparC, which provides lockable pens at the entrance.
